During Google for Games Developer Summit they presented upcoming policy changes for app metadata in Google Play Store which may affect us in 2022.

Here are the most important one related to app icon, app title and developer name:
– Don’t use text or graphic element to promote deals (for example text like: SALE, FREE, NoAds, etc.)
– Don’t use text or graphic elements to indicate Play program or that can misleading user (for example: text like NEW, UPDATE NOW, download now, etc. or badges on the icon)
– Don’t use CAPS – unless your brand is capitalised
– Don’t use special characters that are irrelevant to the app in app title and developer name (this include popular emojis)

All of them may affect popular ASO (App Store Optimisation) techniques, so please be ready to do right changes before they go live.
