Back in October 2021, Google announced that its Google One storage subscription was adding a built-in VPN option. The Google One VPN is now seeing an expansion on new locations, include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the UK.
This feature is only available for Google One subscribers at the 2TB (or higher) tier, . With it your online traffic, regardless of application or browser, will be encrypted to shield you on unsecured networks (for example public Wi-Fi) and it also hiding your IP address. Google says it will “never use the VPN connection to track, log, or sell your browsing activity.” The client libraries and the end-to-end system has been audited by a third party.
We are still waiting for Windows, Mac, and iOS support. One’s VPN remains Android-only for the time being.
