Apple now accepts applications for Impact Accelerator for Black-, Hispanic/Latinx-, and Indigenous-owned businesses

The Impact Accelerator is a virtual 12-week capacity-building program for entrepreneurs that are developing next-generation innovations in clean energy and green technologies.

The program is open to environmental solution and service providers that are headquartered in the United States and are at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by an African American, Hispanic/Latinx American, or Indigenous American individual, as validated by their Supplier Diversity certification.

Program is free, applicants need to meet these criteria:

  • Headquartered in the United States
  • In the environmental sector
  • At least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by an African American, Hispanic/Latinx American, or Indigenous American individual
  • Late-stage startups or mature firms

Eligible business can apply at Prospective Supplier Portal by May 1, 2023, 11:59 p.m. PT.

Apple to add ‘Clean Energy Charging’ option later this year to iOS 16

Apple plans to add iOS 16 feature that will schedule iPhone charging when grid is powered by clean energy.

Not much of the feature details is published. At the moment this feature is expected to be limited to US, and probably only some of the states.
