Microsoft announced .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI) Preview 9 release.
Much of the work in this preview is focused on completing and stabilizing the 50+ controls and layouts, but the major updates were done to support for borders, corners, and shadows across most all controls and layouts. Also it should be mentioned that Microsoft made a lot to improve Android apps start instantly.
Microsoft is not ready to release .NET MAUI framework with .NET global release which is coming this November. They say it be released as a Preview only but the real one will come only around Q2 of 2022.
Microsoft created .NET Upgrade Assistant to automate migration process to .NET 6. Now its been updated with MAUI projects support. The major changes been related to convert XAML pages to MAUI style.
.NET MAUI Preview 7 been released. Now with Visual Studio 2022 support. The major change is new layouts been developed as MAUI native. Release candidate will be available in September with final release in November.
David Ortinau on Xamarin Community Standup stream showed startup comparison numbers for Xamarin.Android and .NET MAUI projects.

Javier Suarez is one of the main .NET MAUI developers during the stream mentioned that they were able to increase .NET MAUI handlers performance regarding to Xamarin.Forms Renderers up to 4 times.
Microsoft has released updates for .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI). On status report page its possible to track the progress for all the features. It seems they are very close to being completely green for enabling features in .NET MAUI.
Today Microsoft inviting to try out Visual Studio 2022 for Mac as first private preview release. This is the first release of IDE with a refreshed, fully native macOS UI.

Microsoft is going to replace Xamarin Community Toolkit with .NET MAUI Community Toolkit. It will be backwards compatible version of the Xamarin Community Toolkit.
As they say it is a new Community Toolkit library that is fully optimized for .NET MAUI.
Microsoft will be releasing two NuGet Packages:
