Outage with Apple ID service was triggering multiple password prompts for users in various countries.

In some cases this resulted in password reset.

As of now, issue seems to be resolved.

Yesterday Apple online services were unstable or unresponsive for couple of hours. Affected services included iMessage, iCloud (including third-party apps integrations), App Store, iCloud Mail, Apple Music and many others.

Outage also affected Apple Store systems significantly affecting retail sales.

Outage was resolved within hours, Apple did not comment on root causes though.

For last several months there were increased number of developers reporting issues with iCloud sync APIs.

Mostly, this results in significant number of 503 errors accessing iCloud APIs.

Some developers who created in-app status panels for iCloud status, see issues.

Apple did not yet come back with resolutions or recommendations.

As of January 26 Apple's System Status shows some issues as resolved.
