New round of beta versions now also includes visionOS 1.1

Apple shares new round of beta versions: iOS/iPadOS 17.4 beta 2, macOS Sonoma 14.4 beta 2, watchOS 10.4 beta 2, tvOS 17.4 beta 2 and visionOS 1.1 beta 1. Xcode 15.3 beta 2 is also available.

visionOS 1.1 beta brings support for MDM to Vision Pro. Users will be able to move volumetric objects much closer to them with this update.

It will also allow users to reset the device if they forgot the password. Prior to this beta users had to contact Apple Store support if they forgot their Vision Pro passcode.

Apple Configurator has issues in macOS Sonoma 14

According to support article, Apple Configurator fails to add apps to iPhones and iPads. Apple suggests that issue will be resolved in next update.

As of now, Macs used for device management should not be updated to macOS Sonoma.

Apple launches Business Essentials program

Apple introduced new program for small businesses – Business Essentials. This program provides iCloud storage, device management and device support to organizations with up to 500 employees.

A set of three simple Apple Business Essentials plans enable businesses to cover every employee and device in their organization. Plans can be customized to support each user with up to three devices and up to 2TB of secure storage in iCloud, starting at $2.99 per month, with optional AppleCare+ for Apple Business Essentials.
